Memorial Service to Honor Bob Hutson

Bob Hutson wearing his Mission of Providence pin – our highest recognition for our associates.
On Friday, December 9th Providence will hold a memorial service for Bob Hutson, who passed away on November 3rd, 2011.
Bob retired from Providence in 2010, where he served as the President and CEO of the Foundation. Bob’s very distinguished career at Providence began in 1979. Driven by an unwavering commitment to the value of human life, Bob played a key role in starting the Center for Life. Bob’s leadership secured the funding for Carroll Manor, setting it on the path to become a premier facility for seniors. Bob helped the Foundation grow not only as a fund-raiser, but also as a friend-raiser, bringing many people into contact with this ministry through the gala, the golf tournament and other events over the years.
Bob’s commitment to the Daughters of Charity enabled them to provide grocery cards for the hungry, clothes for the homeless and dignity to all those they touch. Bob also had great impact beyond Providence with Catholic Charities, Leadership DC, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Association of Healthcare Professionals, the Ascension Health Council on Philanthropy and the Catholic Health Association.
Bob’s greatest accomplishment was his family and his amazing network of friends, many still at Providence today.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob and his family.
