More than 160,000 people die from strokes each year. But many of those deaths could be prevented if people just get screened.
In NBC's Heath News video coverage at Providence Hospital they discuss stroke risk factors, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, tobacco use and a sedentary lifestyle. However, studies have shown that with screening and treatment 80% of strokes can be prevented.
