World AIDS Day: Thursday, December 1st
Don't Forget World AIDS Day 2011

Thursday, December 1st is World AIDS Day. Each year since the first World AIDS Day in 1988, people throughout the world unite in the fight against HIV. It’s an opportunity to show support for people living with HIV and commemorate people who have died.
It’s also a great opportunity to:
- learn your own HIV status with a quick and painless HIV test
- update your knowledge of HIV facts
- and encourage your friends and family to do the same!
Routine screening for HIV has been proven to help reduce the rate of infection for cities like Washington, DC, which has one of the highest rates in the world. Providence Hospital’s Emergency Department has performed routine HIV screening for its patients since May of 2010. Status is everything! Get to know your HIV status today!
Providence Hospital’s Emergency Department HIV Testing Program is made possible with funding from the District of Columbia Department of Health.
